I inherited many of my tools and love of woodworking from my father. If you are like me (and I’m sorry if you are), you look for any excuse to buy any tool you need but don’t have. Fortunately, thanks to my father (taught industrial arts), I have most tools known to man.

A recent project was building a fireplace mantel for our cousin Susan. It was made from scrap wood taken off when their cottage was remodeled. It required a lot of fixing and refinishing. I should have taken pictures.

I designed and built these boxes to hold custom Mah Jongg tiles. Here’s a report on how to make them:
