We make wine with our family every year at the beach and at our house. I grow 3 types of grapes in my yard: 1) Concord (native, Lambrusca), Muscat of Hamburg (vinifera from Harkness), Schiava Grossa (another vinifera from Harkness). In 2025, my four Concord vines produced 68 lbs of grapes and 5 to 6 gallons of wine (5 bottles per gallon).

How We Make Wine – coming report

14 May 2026 – started bottling our homemade Concord wine. Made from grapes in our yard. Here’s the first few bottles. We’ll be bottling a batch at the beach this weekend. Wanted this ready to compare and share. Needed to order more empty bottles to finish the rest. Will have about 27 bottles from our grapes. Another 25 bottles from the beach batch.
