I’ve been trying to learn how to play the piano for more years than I want to admit. I still don’t feel I know how to play. For 6 years I’ve met online each week with a piano group of 3 formed as part of the “Design Your Piano Path” online course (Allysia Van Betuw is teacher).

I also recommend Piano Marvel and Piano with Jonny. Piano with Jonny is a little pricey, but amazing for learning piano/music theory.

I’ve been trying to develop an app to convert music in binary form (.wav) to digital sheet music form, MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). This is really hard to do for piano because each key pressed generates many sound frequencies. Inverting this is difficult – going from hearing many combined frequencies to what keys (notes) were pressed. Some people can do this by ear (perfect pitch), not me.
