While I’m not formally trained as an aquarist, I have kept fish in at least one tank for over 60 years. For about 40 years I have had multiple tanks and one large125-gallon tank. When I retired, I fulfilled my marine tank dream by designing upgrades to my 125 and 20-gallon aquariums.
Volunteering at Mystic Aquarium also was fun and taught me much about fishkeeping. I was given responsibility for doing most of coral reef tank maintanance and helping with other aquarium maintenance. Here are some reports/projects I documented (or will soon) in this area:
- Marine Fish Care Profiles – ask
- Marine Invertebrate Care Profiles – ask
- Freshwater Fish Care Profiles – ask
- Freshwater Aquarium Plant Plant Profiles – ask
- Maintaining Water Quality for Healthy Aquarium Plants
- Fish of Mystic Aquarium From 2017 when I volunteered in Fish and Invertebrates Department (F&I)
- Mystic Aquarium Weird & Wonderful Photo Book – in progress
- Marine Aquarium Design
- Minimizing Marine Aquarium Maintenance and Cost – coming report & will include an update to the above Marine Aquarium Design report
